An ultrasound with MFAMA – what to expect? Why have an ultrasound with MFAMA?

–Most OB care is under a global fee and then additional services are billed to the patient by the Obstetrics provider. With MFAMA, since we are not the primary OB, we do not bill under a global fee and we will bill your insurance directly according to your insurance plan agreement.

–You will have a comprehensive experience with full counseling about your ultrasound that is not usually provided by other providers.

–We have state of the art ultrasound equipment with 3D and 4D capabilities

–All the doctors in MFAMA are experts in Obstetric Ultrasound and are board certified in Maternal and Fetal medicine, and Genetics. They are all accredited by both national and international ultrasound organizations such as AIUM, SMFM, and ISUOG.

–All studies are reviewed and signed by one of our MFM providers – Expert evaluation.

–All our Ultrasound technologists are OB certified and highly trained.

–All our sites are accredited to perform detailed target OB ultrasound and we are the only MFM practice accredited for Fetal Echocardiography.

–You will have the chance to discuss all of the ultrasound findings with a Maternal Fetal Medicine doctor.

–We will communicate all of your results to your doctor, and make recommendations to give you the best care possible.

–In most cases you do not need a referral to be seen by MFAMA. It is best if you already have an OB or Midwife, but we can schedule you without a referral at any one of our 5 convenient locations.

Having a baby is both joyous and exciting, and most pregnancies proceed smoothly however, some women need to be watched more closely during pregnancy and will need the expertise of our Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) doctors.

Our doctors work hand-in-hand with your Obstetrician to tailor a plan of care specific to your medical needs. This may include management of conditions complicating pregnancy, such as Diabetes, Multiple Gestation, Hypertension, and recurrent Pregnancy Loss, as well as Prenatal Diagnostic Procedures such as Fetal Echocardiography, specialized Fetal Ultrasound, Amniocentesis, and Genetic Screening and testing (Nuchal Translucency and Nasal Bone Evaluation), and tests of Fetal Well Being.

Referral to a Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist is not cause for alarm, in fact, you and your baby are now being cared for by an entire team of experts committed to the best outcome for both you and your baby.
