Mohammed Elkousy, MD, FACOG
Doctor Elkousy joined MFAMA in 2002 after completing his Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. During his Fellowship he pursued numerous research interests and has had publications on preterm labor, cervical incompetence, vaginal birth after cesarean section with success rates related to VBAC, and gestational diabetes. In addition, he completed a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology (MSCE) and Biostatistics at the University of Pennsylvania Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CCEB). Having practiced general Obstetrics and Gynecology for several years prior to pursuing his fellowship, he has a great understanding of patient’s needs as well as their referring physicians. Doctor Elkousy’s current clinical interests include all aspects of women’s health and Maternal fetal medicine with a special interest in obstetric ultrasound, preconception counseling, recurrent pregnancy loss and miscarriage, cervical incompetence, high risk pregnancy, genetic testing, placenta previa, and preeclampsia.
Dr. Elkousy is Board Certified by in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Maternal Fetal Medicine and is a member of the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine, The American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine, International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG) and is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG). Doctor Elkousy is certified by the Fetal Medicine Foundation and Maternal Fetal Medicine Foundation for Nuchal Translucency screening, and CLEAR certification for preterm labor screening.
