High risk Pregnancy management and routine OB prenatal care

MFAMA has four locations (servicing Fairfax, Loudoun, Prince William and Fauquier counties) where you can be seen for prenatal care in conjunction with your OB provider. However, if you don’t have a provider, our MFAMA team of Maternal Fetal Medicine (MFM) specialists (high-risk OB specialists) work with a large network of OB, and MIDWIFE providers to provide exclusive and comprehensive obstetrical care.

Prenatal OB care center – Comprehensive prenatal obstetrical care includes:

• Initial comprehensive evaluation to identify any risk factors that may affect pregnancy.
• Expert Maternal Fetal Medicine for high risk OB care and Routine Prenatal care.
• Genetic counseling by an MFM specialist or genetic counselor.
• Genetic screening and diagnosis for genetic disorders, chromosomal abnormalities, Down syndrome. Testing includes blood work and first trimester nuchal translucency (NT scan), first trimester ultrasound.
• Comprehensive fetal ultrasound at 20 weeks with Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialist.
• Fetal echocardiogram (detailed evaluation of baby’s heart) when needed.

All genetic testing is accompanied by detailed genetic counseling as recommended by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American college of medical genetics, and the Society for Maternal Fetal Medicine.
All your prenatal and OB care can be coordinated in any of 4 convenient office locations.
OB Delivery arrangements can be made with an OB doctor or Mid Wife depending on your preference and if you have a hospital request.
